Lunch w/ moms. Real indonesian food.
Although my mom is the best Indonesian cook I’ve ever experienced, we still decided to get lunch at this Toko in the city where my parents live. I love Indonesian food. In the United States I have never encountered a real Indonesian restaurant before. I try to cook like my mom but since she never taught me when I was growing up, I am now still struggling to get my food to taste like hers. My lunch was some of my favorite Indonesian dishes. Nasi Kuning (yellow coconut rice), Ajam Kecap (sweet soy chicken), Rendang (beef), Atjar (sour vegetables) and then some. Ooooh how I love me some Indonesian cooking! But my mom’s cooking is the best of course. I should post some recipes sometime… I will do that.
