In this 40 minute during interview (including footage of his recent show in Amsterdam), Brother Ali speaks about his new album, the process towards it, tells an anecdote about Chuck D. (who features on the album) and also shows us his view on how women are under-appreciated as true music supporters. This Brother really knows how to keep an interview going and how to “preach” to his fans during his shows. Definitely one of the more interesting interviews I’ve done. DJ BK-One, another dope Rhymesayers artist, has been Brother Ali’s DJ for the past 10 years. BK-One recently released his own album “Radio do Canibal” which contains featurings from artists such as Black Thought, Scarface, Blueprint, Raekwon, Phonte, Murs and more. During the first European solo tour from Brother Ali, I got up with BK-One and threw down a few questions to see who the man behind this, in my opinion underrated DJ, is.
Rakaa Iriscience, known as 1/3 of Dilated Peoples has been around for quite some time. At this moment he is working on dropping his solo album Crown of Thorns. As he talks about the upcoming album he also spits some knowledge about longevity in this industry and gives out free advice on how to get a good high. Ha. A very informative conversation and worth while watching, definitely if you’re fresh in the game.
